TENTATIVE SOUTHERN LEAGUE DRAFT DATE

I'm going to go ahead and set the draft date tentatively for...

SUNDAY MARCH 16th at 7pm EST

If anyone has a serious conflict with this date, please say so. Let's try to make it happen though. Looking forward to it!

I have questons about the draft. Do we have to get in the draft room early? when wll they allow you to get in the draft room? Is it like Yahoo?

I beleive that you can enter the draft room at least 30 minutes before the draft. Im not sure exactly how long but I think its at least 30 min.

I know you said 7 PM EST, but you meant 7 PM EDT, right?
4 PM PDT if you live on the West coast(me).

EST= Eastern Standard Time

and EDT=Eastern Daylight Time. Please answer the question.

As a life-long east coaster, we call the time zone in which we live the Eastern Standard Time zone. EDT and EST are the same thing. I think technically EDT is only used after daylight savings, but even then we almost always use EST.

Either way, 7PM EST/EDT would translate to 4PM PST/PDT unless you don't observe daylight savings. Hope this clears things up.

There is an hour difference between standard time and daylight time. Most of the U.S. is now on daylight time. If you can't answer my question, I will assume the the draft starts 4 PM Pacific Daylight Time.

Um...I didnt think talking US times zones would be so confusing.

I guess technically, we are talking about EDT. As of last night our clocks moved forward 1 hour in observance of Daylight Savings. So, lets just forget EST/EDT and go with 11 PM GMT, which is British Summer Time in the summer.


Simply, yes the draft is 4 PM PDT, 5 PM Mountain, 6 PM Central, & 7PM eastern...for those observing DST.

With all this rhetoric about time I got totally confused about the locale....Maybe someone can help me wiyh this time warp problem...If you're in a spaceship traveling at the speed of light...what happens when you turn the light switch??? That's right....It don't matter...The draft will be 1/2 day after the cock crows over the moon...

Did you take into consideration that this IS a leap year. I might be a day early...or late.

And what if i move to Indiana in the next week? They dont change their clocks there, i don't think. wtf

Once you set live draft time on main league page. It will show time for whatever timezone you live in , and I assume a countdown until draft time (I am not sure, hopefully same as Yahoo)

I just got chewed out about this EST vs EDT myself... learn something new everyday I guess!

Mr. Commissioner, Would it be appropriate to post the official Southern league draft date & time now??? Everything looks like a go as far as I can tell...just trying to finalize my plans for the weekend is all.
