AAA

Just wanting to see if we can get some dialogue going. everyone happy with their drafts? Who will be winning their league this year?

I drafted players that I wanted, but I didn't get my first options most of the time. Overall, I give my team a C-. Who will win the league? ummmm, I have no idea. There are several teams that look pretty balanced, but the season hasn't started yet.

I loved my draft and came out of it thinking I had one of the best teams. Then I looked over the other teams in my league and said "Hell if I know who is strongest."

I do think Singer had one hell of a draft though.

I did notice out league almost universally drafted pitching 12-18 slots later then the other AAA league.

Last year my team was auto picked the first 8 rds and it sure didn't look like a team I would have drafted. I was able to fix it at least. Joel how were you able to link to the other AAA league?

My brother-in law won his way up into the International league so he sent me a copy of the draft. Tarrell just sent me a copy of the Elite draft. I have not looked it over that close yet, but I did notice one interesting thing though.

In all three drafts (both AAA and Elite) the team who drafted Longoria in the 1st round also drafted Upton in the 2nd round.

Other observations:

1) My flub draft of Webb will hurt me.
2) I seem to have over valued Butler.
3) I am the only person in all 3 drafts to think Homer Bailey is this years Zack Grienke (I am the only one to draft him in the three leagues combined). He may well become my version of Tarrell's Wily Mo Pena.............or come September I will be able to pull this post up and smile :-)

Joel - I haven't looked at your team but I know it can't be worse than having an entire batting corps of "sleeper" picks like I do. My Wily Mo Pena is Chase Headley - 20 HR 100 RBI in 2010!

I think Butler is undervalued overall this year... Though I don't know where you drafted him.

I picked up Butler with the 58th pick in PCL. He went pick 76 in International and pick 74 in Elite. I think he is going to be great this year, but I should have waited one more round. A reach, but not to bad.

I think it is a bit of a reach for WiIly Mo to hit 20hr's.......it is a bit tough to get enough AB's w/ a Mendoza line average.

I want to compare where I picked my guys to the they were picked in other leagues.I like my team except I am a bit weak at 3 rd base and closer. But I picked guys I like anyway even if I had to stretch some. My first 5 were A. Pujols Ian Kinsler Greinke K morales and Zobrist. I stretched a bit with Brett anderson U. Jiminez seems like I was a rd ahead with Adam Jones and a few rds ahead with F Gutierez. Andrus and Beltre fill out my infield. I picked up Jared Weaver fairly late and gambled on Chris Davis again.

Well it's on everyone. Better be ready cuz I am relentless.

I had high hopes for Willy Mo Pena also at one time but thats been a few years

I love Butler as well Joel. Although no big flys for him at spring training. Sucks I couldn't make my draft.

I can't believe that I said i was willing to listen to trade offers for the num 1 pick. I am glad no one even made an offer. Pujols is awesome and that 21 st rd pick of Garrett Jones is looking pretty good rt now also. This is going to be a fun season. 8 hrs yesterday 2 wins and a save a decent start now I just need to gets some steals and holds.

I wasn't there for the first hour of my draft and I got screwed by auto-draft. I think this year is going to have to be a fight just not to get demoted....the talent balence Pacific Coast is incredible. It doesn't help to have Ian Kinsler, Carlos Beltran, Brian Roberts, Cliff Lee and Huston Street all on the same team. Add to that that Frank Francisco lost his job, and I have a pretty steep hill to climb. I am going to try to make some trades, but we'll see....it may be back to AA for 2011!

good luck getting your team on the field dutchman glad to see you posting on the boards. I have Kinsler and Beltran also so i will be pulling for those 2 also.It sounds like Cliff Lee will be back soon also.Keep fighting

Just dealt Cliff Lee for Qualls...picked up Street and Francisco in the draft, so I need to keep up in saves somehow. I also picked up Houston's Matt Lindstrom/Brandon Lyon tandem for Josh Hamilton (I know, a major overpay, but I'm deep on outfield)....my strategy is now to dominate across the board on pitching because my offense is just not going to cut it. I have Halladay and Sabathia leading my staff, I think I at least have a chance at top 6.

Also, as a shout out to all of my DL guys, I have temporarily re-named my team The Disabled List.

funny Dutchman. I just traded Gutierrez for Lindsrom. look at charlie Villanueva maybe instead of Lyon he was solid today and all year so far he might end up as the closer in Mill.1 ip today 3 ks hold anyway.

Honestly I hate Lyon, I just have him because I don't trust the Astros front office not to make him the closer if Lindstrom struggles at all. Villanueva's a good look though...another guy if you are looking for holds is Matt Daley. He has the skill to put up great ERA/WHIP and strikeouts...looking at the pool in Pacific Coast, most of the setup guys available are the types that could get you a hold or give up 3 runs on any given day.

So much for that, I just went to pick up both of those guys and they are both taken. These leagues are the best non-keeper leagues I've ever seen by far.

yeah Dutchmen I went and checked your league and saw he was gone after I posted.When I saw Qualls blew another one I went and checked for Gutierrez in my league and of course he was long gone lol. It is more fun this way.My league is extremely active I only had one trade posted that stayed up for more than one day and I think he was out of town at the time.

Yeah...just my luck, I figure it's only a little rough patch for Qualls, then he goes and blows another save 5 hours after I accept the trade for him. Gutierrez is owned. Crossing my fingers on this one....

Dutchmen I saw someone dropped Wigginton in your league. He might be valuable after he gets 2 nd base for eligibility he already has 5 games this year and I think they stick with him there until Roberts gets back.
