| Ya...I'm a newby this year. Came out of the AA Southern battle scared and beaten but still had enough juice left in my body to be standing in the end. Looking forward to another blood bath again this year. | |

| I just kinda fell into AAA. I lost the A Cali title on the last day last year. I was expecting to be in AA this season, but I guess the "big club" liked me enough to jump up with the big boys. | |

| Hey all....
I finished 2nd in South Atlantic A last year...to Mansfield Ballpark who just happened to end up here with me. I did finish #13 overall, though, on the top 20 list of all teams combined.
Looking forward to the competition.

| Why is it that the PCL is ALWAYS the best league on this site...It is weird.....Last years league was by far the most active - we had 43 trades, over 1000 pick ups and 4 teams either right below or over the 100 point mark......I am sure this league will rival any in the system again in 2009..... |

| From what I figured so far....we have 4 top 20 teams, 8 teams that finished in the top 3 of their former league (2 league winners), 3 scoring leaders, and 1 mystery team. | |

| PCL forever!!
That will be insanely tough....man, you are going to have to work to finish top 6 in that league.....out of the 180 guys from last season we got a really awesome core of about 60-70 guys.....after a couple of years these leagues will be insane.... |

| Looking forward to the competition this year I came in third last year behind two guys who didn't really pay attention too much. No trade offers were made to me after the first few weeks | |

| An injury riddled 2nd half last season kept me from slaying a Red Monster , Someone must have took notice ? I believe I was just shy of publication in the top 20 in 2008 . I intend to attain publication status and see my club name in lights in 09 . The activity level of the AAA PCL hopefully will satisfy my fantasy baseball prow'ess . Good luck on Saturday ! | |

| Hey guys, I have a trade question for another league and thought I'd get some outside opinions on this......
I get- Johan Santana Jose Lopez
I give- Dustin Pedroia John Maine
My pitching staff is- Beckett Sheilds Liriano Jimenez Morrow Cueto
I also have Kendrick at 2b
Any thoughts?

| Im a big fan of Kendrick, I like him more than Pedroia long-term actually...so with that in mind, Id take Santana/Lopez which would have to make your staff the best in the league. Doesnt get much better than Santana, Beckett, Shields, Liriano for a top 4 and then you have some talented, albeit unproven youngster to rotate into the 5 spot. You wont miss Pedroia that much. | |

| Thats kinda my feeling. I traded Brian Roberts to get Liriano and Kendrick....so I think I'm doing OK so far. I also think that Lopez should do well this season. | |

| Hm... really dislike Kendrick myself. The man has no power, his base-stealing is... average?... and more importantly, he can't take a walk. Is there a less patient hitter out there? I feel like players with Kendrick's total lack of plate discipline tend to suffer after the first year or two, as pitchers begin to realize they don't need to throw them anything good. (Note that he strikes out a lot for a leadoff-no. 2 hitter -- this isn't one of those guys who never walks because he's putting the ball in play.) It takes a bit for the game plan to filter down, but at this point, I could see his BA dropping. And of course, if your other league counts walks, there's that.
His BABIP has been pretty obscene the last two years -- .382 and .362. I know he's a good contact hitter, but those numbers seem outside "good contact hitter" range... even if they're legit, they suggest that Kendrick certainly isn't UNDERachieving, and may not have much room to improve as a contact guy.
Also, I know he's not injured right now, but the guy has missed 70 games in each of the last two seasons.
Not that injury-prone guys and/or guys with no plate discipline aren't all over the place at 2B these days. But Kendrick is the worst of the lot -- a one-category guy who has a history of injury. He's like Placido Polanco -- aside from racking up hits, he doesn't do anything. And to be honest, I'd rather have Polanco; at least he's not going to get injured or kill you in walks.

| Very good points Clyde. My only major knock on Kendrick has been his impatience, but others have survived as free-swingers...I do think that he has the potential to for moderate power though, possibly peaking in the 15-18 HR range. And while his speed isn't Jose Reyes level, he should be could for double digits consistently. Heres an interesting article about Kendrick from fangraphs: http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/index.php/can-howie-kendrick-hack-his-way-to-stardom. | |

| Possibly... but I just can't get past that BABIP. I mean, .370 over two (short) seasons? Only four players since WWII have posted even .350 for their careers -- Jeter, Carew, Ichiro, and Miguel Cabrera. That's not going to last...
as for the trade, I'm no expert -- I've played a grand total of one of these things. But I'm a big believer in not trading hitting for pitching. Then again, Santana isn't just "pitching" -- he's Santana. Then again again, how seriously do you take his injury? My big problem with this deal is that it saddles you with two third-tier second basemen in Lopez and Kendrick. I guess Kendrick is borderline second-tier, and Lopez is borderline fourth-tier... and if you're counting on Kendrick, you're going to need a good backup in case he gets hurt again...
I guess it's a decent trade. I'd rather trade Kendrick to someone who values him more than I do, and get maybe a second-tier starter in return. Then again, I wouldn't have Kendrick to begin with, so there's that.

| Hi -- I can confirm that I made a waiver request for Napoli, and that my waiver priority at the time was 11th. I'd be glad to give him up if a site error led him to be awarded to me incorrectly... | |
