i am playing in a eight team head to head league on yahoo this year and i have to say i can't stand yahoo. you have to pay for the stat tracker? what kind of bs is that.
needless to say i have never played in a head to head league and was looking for some tips. should i play it just like the scoring system we use on elite or are their little nuances that i am unaware of? any help would be greatly appreciated.
like i said its only an eight team league so our rosters are stacked. its kind of hard to improve on a outfield that consists of grady hamilton beltran and quentin.

Shane,
Good to see you back in the saddle with FBB. I don't have much experience with H2H leagues but what I do know is the scoring system means everything. It can really change player values quite a bit depending on the system used. Normally, H2H leagues a Fantasy Points style leagues. Go after hitters that excel with your league scoring format. I wouldn't pay a lot for SP as I found it favorable to stream SP's on a weekly basis as an effective way to get points in a hurry. But it is important to have (1) SP stud to anchor your staff. Look for an innings eater with a high K rate. You probably have a weekly starts limit for SP's but understand if the limit is say 7 starts per week you get all pitching totals for all SP's going on the day you hit the 7 start limit. Streaming relievers is also an effective way to keep extra points going every day. Hope you find this little bit of advice helpful and good luck winning your H2H league.

I like H2H you could lose to a week team if your top guys have an off week. I'ts just exciting to have a diferant team each week and start over at even. I agree with corporal punishers on pitching. Starting pitching and closers are what your looking for, no need for anyone else in the pitching...

Differing formats and differing cats make roster selection unique. I play both H2H and Roto for a reason - and draft my teams according to both the format and the cats. I disagree about the blanket statement concerning SP and closers - for instance in this league since Holds are a category, I have only 5 SP and 8 RP - working well across W-S-H so far.
